Busy Days!

September 20, 2010

It has been a little while since my last blog update on my web site simply because I’ve been very busy doing more voice overs!

Here are some updates:

You’ll find a new video page on my site. This video page is  just an example of some the different videos I’ve voiced in the past few months. More videos are on the way. I could voice YOUR video next! Email me for details.

On the home page, you’ll see more client testimonials. Along with the links to the web sites I use the most for the voice jobs I get. Of course, I always welcome voice over requests right here on MY web site, BaileyBroadcasting.com!

I’ve also updated some of my audio demos too. You’ll find a new commercial demo of a fully produced 30 second radio commercial. This way you can hear the finish product, instead of just a small sample. I’ve added a new narration demo and their is also a medical narration demo too.  Some of those medical words can be difficult to pronounce. Now I know what medical students go through! Quite a few companies have requested me to narrate their medical powerpoint presentations. Your company could be next!

More updates to BaileyBroadcasting are coming soon. Plus my insight on Ad Clubs.

Until next time,

Frank

Bailey Broadcasting first web site blog

June 16, 2010

Welcome to my very first blog on my Bailey Broadcasting website.

I’ll call this one - History of Frank James Bailey: Part 1

Ok, here we go.

My name is Frank James Bailey. I started my radio career in 1988 at a Cleveland CHR radio station WRQC - 92 Q. From there I moved on to a short lived job at another CHR station WZOO FM in Ashtabula, OH. This station was the ONLY station where I was FORCED to change my name. I was Moose Morgan.

I was also a night club DJ for a little while too. I used to beat mix and scratch a lot with vinyl records back in the day.

In the mid to late 90’s I created a mobile DJ service called Bailey Broadcasting doing weddings and parties. At the same time, I also worked in radio at a county station called Canton Country 95.9 - WNPQ. This is where my country alter ego, “The OUTLAW” Frank James was born. But by 1999, I sold my DJ equipment and moved out of the mobile DJ world and pursued my radio career more.

In 1999, I got a job at another country station. This time in Youngstown, OH called 95.1 THE CAT. - WICT. I worked 7-12.  Here I not only answered phone requests but I also took request from truckers off of CB 19 too! (Breaker 19 good buddy!). I was also bitten by the acting bug in Youngtown too. I was an extra in “Turn Of Faith” and I acted in a few plays too. “Death Of A Salesman” and “Bloodlines”.

By 2001 I was working at 2 stations in Toledo, OH! A classic rock station 94.5 WXKR & a country station too, WKKO - K 100. Also at this time in my career I was producing radio imaging liners and promos using the audio editing program called, Cool Edit Pro. That program is now Adobe Audition.

In 2003, while I was in Findlay, OH at 100.5 WKXA, I was the promotion director. I produced a lot of promos for the station, using my own voice. But I also produced a lot of the promos using the stations imaging voice too.

Between 2003 and 2008 is when I really honed my production editing skills.

By 2007, even though I was still working in radio, I started to venture more out on my own more with voice overs, producing radio imaging liners for Internet stations and voicing commercials for new clients.

In November of 2008 I entered a talent contest in Cincinnati, OH. The Applause Model and Talent competition. In this contest I concentrated more on my vocal ability then what I looked like. I did a lot of adlibbing with voice characters on stage. I was excited to find out talent agencies at the contest wanted to talk to me about my voice acting!

At the present time I consider myself retired from radio. Now I am a full time Professional Voice Talent. Since I am a family man, I believe this to be the best job for me. I can work from home and I no longer have to move from place to place trying to find the next radio job.

Well, there you have it. A little history about me!

Normally I will write this blog to give you a little insight as to what I’ve done for some of my past clients and some insight into what I can do for new clients. That could be you!

I will give new voice talents little tips on what I’ve experienced. And I’ll also talk about some of the people who inspire me and I look up to in this biz. From big names to small names, a lot of people influence me.

And, this blog will not always be about my voice over work! Sometimes, it will just be about…me.

Enjoy.

Frank
