About Frank James Bailey

I started my radio career at quite a young age. When I was 18, I went to the Ohio School Of Broadcasting and got my first job in Cleveland at a station called 92Q – WRQC in 1989.
Throughout my career I’ve worked in many different Ohio markets including Cleveland, Canton, Youngstown, Toledo, Findlay and Celina. |
Doing voice over work and voice acting has always been one of my favorite creative outlets ever since I went to broadcasting school. When I first started, I would try and find creative ways to make the commercial, promo or voice character stand out, even though the technology was very limited back then.
In the past 20 years I’ve seen the technology grow so much. From reel to reels, to cart machines, to CD’s. Now just about every radio and TV station in America and overseas is playing music off of a computer hard drive or a satellite. And commercials are usually saved on a hard drive too. Computer programs like Adobe Audition help make the project stand out with special effects. And even though microphones and programs like this are easily available, it takes a trained voice actor with years of experience to make the commercial or promo stand out from all the others.
Remember, if you let a DJ at a radio or TV station voice your companies commercial for free (and a lot of stations do this) the station plays your commercial in a stop set, with about 5 or 6 other commercials done by the same voices at the station. It can EASILY get unnoticed and missed. But, if you use a professional voice actor to voice your commercial, it will NOT sound the same, like all the other voices, and it will…STAND OUT!
I have been making radio station imaging for the past 10 years. I personally believe that my voice is tailor made for rock, classic rock, and country radio stations. It’s also great for TV station promos and news introductions. I love to be as creative as I can to make the liner, sweeper, or promo stand out above the rest. My goal is to make your radio or TV station be noticed!
Finally, in the past few years, I have had the most fun doing and creating new voice characters. From video games to cartoons to other forms of animation. I have a very wide range of voice characters I can do for your project.
On a side note, I also use my creative mind in my spare time to write screenplays.
